When Swedish Match UK - the makers of market leading products including chewing tobacco, cigars, matches and lighters - considered putting a holiday prize winning promotion on Swan Filter Tips they faced the all too common ‘space' challenge of how to get all the necessary text for the promotion on-pack. The instant win competition, offering a trip for two to Las Vegas and runners up home poker sets, offers customers the chance to try their hand to luck. A unique set of win numbers were created from a combination of letters and numbers, to reduce the risk of fraudulent claims, and they were printed on the winning vouchers and inserted into random boxes. The function of the Fix-a-Form was to advertise the competition in the best way possible – giving it maximum exposure on-pack. A run of 682 000, 35mm die-cut leaflet labels were produced for the promotion which offered 1000 win numbers. Confirming that Fix-a-Form was the ideal choice for the job, Product Manager Natalie Bridge explains: ‘We chose the Fix-a-Form option because it was a quick and cost effective method of getting the promotional info on pack. It was a better solution for us than to go through the process of changing the Swan Filter Tips pack artwork to include the promotional details including the terms and conditions.' ‘The extra space also gave us the ability to include some US style graphics and set the scene with a Las Vegas theme.'
