Army medical kit is ready
for action with Kleer-Format The 42mm x 70mm 24-page over-laminated version of the traditional Fix-a-Form leaflet label was chosen for its durability to combat the moisture and damp associated with normal outdoor use. The manufacturer of the sterile Tracheotomy kit, a specialist in airway management products, was looking for a method of applying a quick-reference pictorial guidance of the procedure method. The laminate and paper specifications passed the required age testing and sterilization specifications. The kit would be used when a person's upper airway has become blocked. It provides all of the required components to perform the insertion of an emergency breathing tube through the patient's neck into the trachea. The pictorial instructions are attached to the product as a quick and effective reminder to the medic of the correct procedure in which they would previously have been trained. Explains Stephen Jarrold: 'The Kleer-Format is the ideal product for this life-saving medical device as it can be opened up in an instant to work as a memory aid in field conditions.' 'The eight diagrams, which fold out concertina-style, reveal the full pictorial sequence of events in one easy-to-view strip. It's another clear example of how the Fix-a-Form concept can work to excellent effect with medical devices that need to carry clear and precise instructional information.' A full instruction for use booklet is included in the outer box with every kit. However, as the product is sold globally, the instructions are required in 12 languages and it is not a 'quick reference'. 'This is the first time a Fix-a-Form has been manufactured for use in battle field situations. We are pleased to be able to be of help with the development of such an effective kit for front line use.'
