AstraZeneca could soon be in need of pharmaceutical labels for a new drug to combat ovarian cancer.
Trial of the product indicated that the experimental substance delayed death and hindered the return of tumours by nearly four months when compared with women who were given a placebo, reports Dow Jones.
Olaparib is a poly-ADP-ribose polymerase inhibitor that destroys cancer cells and prevents them from repairing damage to their DNA.
If future trials continue to yield promising results, AstraZeneca may find itself needing to print pharma labels when the product is approved for general use.
The firm is due to present its findings at the annual American Society of Clinical Oncology next month.
Other products to be showcased, which may need pharmaceutical Fix-a-Form labels, include Onyx Pharmaceuticals and Bayer AG's Nexavar - a drug being developed to combat breast cancer.
According to a recent poll of UK consumers conducted by CSL, pharmacies are trusted more by Britons than many other high street stores, Chemist + Druggist reported.
