Drinks manufacturers may be altering their printed labels to become more like those of an Australian wine after it won a top award.
The packaging of Alpha Crucis Shiraz 2008 beat all of its competitors in Australia, before going on to be named the best in the world after surpassing competitors in Europe, the US and Japan, Decanter.com reports.
It is produced in McLaren Vale by Chalk Hill Winery hand has printed labels depicting the wine as part of the Southern Cross constellation.
There is also a gold band at the bottom to symbolise the border on early European night sky maps.
"This award is the culmination of seven years' work and the dedication to excellence by our staff," said designer Miguel Alemao.
Last month, it was revealed that the peelable labels and other packaging of Hardys Nottage Hill wines are to get a £4.5 million revamp, so the manufacturers may be hoping they are in for a chance at the same award next year.
