British Car Auctions (BCA) has begun including QR code printed labels on its marketing and point of sale materials across its entire UK network.
The barcode-based promotional label solution allows anyone with a smartphone to access further information about BCA products and services at the press of a button.
According to the BCA's head of marketing Keith Rountree, the new QR code printed labels will help the firm's customers keep up to date with latest goings-on via their mobile phones.
"[The move] reflects the increasing influence of mobile devices and smartphones in the business arena. Overall visits to our website using mobile devices have doubled this year," Mr Rountree added.
Recently, Scott Morris from the University of Illinois, a packaging and peelable labels expert, claimed that QR codes are opening up entirely new channels of communication between manufacturers and their customers.
