An American dedicated to saving booklet labels and coupons to get discounts on goods and services may set an example to Britons hoping to reduce their outgoings.
Joanie Demer, star of the television show Extreme Couponing, noted that these valuable bits of paper are often discarded by householders, reports the Daily Telegraph.
A study by the publication noted that a family of two adults and two children between the ages of seven and 11 could save up to £66.14 a week by making use of promotional labels.
Among the areas people could save cash in by using booklet labels are travel expenses, household bills, toiletries and everyday trips to the supermarket.
"Coupons are money and you wouldn't believe how much money people throw away," Ms Demer stated.
The dedicated couponer is co-author of the book Pick Another Checkout Lane Honey, which claims to provide shoppers with tips on how to get significant discounts on their grocery shopping.
