A conference is being held soon by the Trading Standards Institute (TSI) in a bid to teach businesses how to reduce excess packaging and benefit the environment.
Excess Sent Packing - Optimising Packaging Whilst Increasing Your Bottom Line will take place on September 27th 2011 and will bring together key players including manufacturers and importers.
Delegates will be spoken to about packaging laws and methods of reducing raw materials use, which could result in more businesses looking to use Fix-a-Form leaflet labels.
TSI spokesperson Lisa Foster said it makes no sense for firms to use more packaging than is necessary, as it wastes both money and resources.
"We can ensure that everyone in the supply chain thinks about the environmental impact their packaging may have and designs it in such a way that makes a positive, sustainable contribution," she added.
This comes after Healthcare Packaging magazine found that some companies are finding designing environmentally-friendly containers for their products a challenge.
Fix-a-Form leaflet labels could help with providing information in a limited space, which could be useful if brands need to cut the amount of outside casing they use.
