A large amount of counterfeit wine has been seized in Bournemouth after officials from Trading Standards noticed that the printed labels featured a spelling error.
More than 50 bottles of fake Jacob's Creek were taken off shop shelves after it was realised that the packaging did not match other bottles and further counterfeit goods are now being looked for elsewhere in the region.
The printed label said 'Austrlia' instead of 'Australia' and Zara Fulmar from Trading Standards said that although it is not dangerous, it would not taste very nice.
"Our next step is to formally interview traders who were found with the wine on their premises and find out why they had it and where they got it from," another source added.
Many brands have been the victims of counterfeiting, so it may be necessary to create special, bespoke printed labels to deal with the problem. One solution could be a scratch-off panel revealing a seal of authenticity underneath.
