Demand for custom designed labels and other packaging options could be set to continue growing in many emerging markets around the world.
According to a report by Pira International, countries such as China and Brazil are likely to fuel expansion in the global packaging sector over the next few years.
India was also flagged up as a possible driver of future growth, along with several nations in eastern Europe.
Pira International noted that many emerging markets are enjoying "rapid development" at the moment, which in turns means people living in these countries have more disposable income than they used to.
As a result, they are investing more heavily in consumer goods and appliances such as dishwashers and washing machines.
Pira International added that people in emerging countries are also increasingly buying "associated products such as the household care products needed to operate these machines, thus stimulating demand across a range of packaging media".
