One of the Fix-a-Form network's pioneers will take a step back from white hats and coats at the end of 2010 when he retires after 38 years of service.
Joining Denny Bros Ltd as a finishing craftsman in 1972, Charlie King progressed to department supervisor in the early 80’s when Fix-a-Form production first began using the very first hand-fed machines. During this time he managed the separate Fix-a-Form factory coping with rapidly increasing demand until the company relocated to a new factory in 1987.
He then took over as Finishing Manager overseeing continued growth in
Fix-a-Form output and in particular work for the Healthcare sector and continued in this important role when the business relocated again in 2001.
Charlie has played an important role in many technical and machinery developments for the manufacture and inspection of the product range which has greatly benefitted the licensee network. A keen walking enthusiast, Charlie says he will be spending his time relaxing with the family and getting the walking boots on as much as he can. Let’s hope for some good English weather!
His experience of the production of Fix-a-Form labels is immense and his shoes will be very hard to fill.
The man challenged with this task is Tony Humphrey, who has been employed in Fix-a-Form production since 1999, originally as a machine operator. He progressed through the ranks as a supervisor and then as Assistant Manager to Charlie in recent years.
Tony will report to Colin Hunt, Production Director, and be supported in his new role by Philip Eke and Jo Hughes, as Assistant Managers.
