More could be done to improve the speed at which products are packaged and ready to have their peelable labels applied, it has been claimed.
A poll carried out by the organisers of the Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA) Show found that 39 per cent of people in the industry believe measures need to be taken to boost efficiency.
Some 27 per cent also thought not enough talent is being recruited into the packaging industry to retain the competitive edge of companies.
The PPMA show will return to Birmingham's NEC from September 27th to 29th 2011 and aims to showcase some of the biggest trends in packaging design and trends.
A 'Ones to Watch' feature will also celebrate some of the young achievers in the industry.
This comes after design expert Tim Clarke recently told Pharmaceutical Technology magazine that well-packaged medicines with clear pharma Fix-a-Form labels could help people to use medicines safely.
