Businesses trying to decide on how best to package their products may be interested to hear that peelable labels have been recommended by one publication.

Packaging Europe stated that according to European association for the self-adhesive label industry Finat, half of all usage of this kind of label is in the transport and logistics sector.

The publication said this is not surprising because they have established a reputation in sectors as diverse as food, pharmaceuticals and retailing for being reliable, durable and versatile.

Furthermore, peelable labels can be specially printed to incorporate security information or details designed to help monitor stock levels, something that may be especially useful for sensitive pharmaceutical products.

"All in all, the self-adhesive label offers an unmatched flexibility and versatility in both straightforward day-to-day inventory labelling and in advanced options," Packaging Europe concluded.

This comes after it was suggested by Alexander Watson Associates earlier this week that sleeve labels could become more popular in the future.
