Pharmaceutical companies have been encouraged to launch new products in a creative way.
Cheryl Clarke, founder of event management specialist evential, told Healthcare Global "increased restrictions" are being introduced on promotional giveaways.
This, she said, means firms in the pharmaceutical sector need to adopt more innovative ways of making a product launch a success.
Creating interesting packaging, possibly by using pharma booklet labels, could therefore be an option worth pursuing.
"Due to the ever-changing environment of healthcare compliance, more inventive ideas have to be considered and put forward," Ms Clarke commented.
However, she stressed that some of the core requirements of a product launch have not changed, such as the need to stage it in an accessible location, to have strong branding and first-class speakers.
Ms Clarke added that it will be interesting to see how companies in the pharma industry, from small firms to large organisations, "push the boundaries" to draw attention to their products.
