Scottish food manufacturers are in line to be honoured for their use of printed labels and other types of packaging.
The Grampian Food Forum Innovation Awards recognise local businesses that have taken big strides forward when it comes to improving their packaging, marketing and healthy eating credentials, the Inverurie Herald reports.
Firms in the region have been reminded that the deadline for submitting their entries is on February 14th.
Belinda Miller, a member of the organisation, has therefore called for companies to act now or risk missing out on being recognised in this way.
"Valentine's Day on February 14th could be the first step to success for this year's entrants," she commented.
Ms Miller added that the Grampian Food Forum has been "encouraged" by the quality of the submissions thus far.
Both large and small businesses are in with a chance of coming away with a gong, as separate categories have been designed for firms that have less than 25 members of staff and those that have more.
