Pharmaceutical labels could be set to become a more common fixture in Asda stores across the country.
According to a spokesman for the supermarket chain, many shoppers are keen to see pharmacy services provided at their local store, the Wiltshire Times reports.
This, he said, has been made apparent at the latest customer listening groups.
The company recently submitted an application to open a pharmacy at its Melksham outlet.
"It will offer a full NHS dispensing service, private prescriptions and we'll be looking to employ two pharmacists," the spokesman commented.
The Asda representative added that customers will also be able to undergo diabetes and blood pressure tests.
This comes shortly after Asda revealed it plans to spend more than £500 million on opening 25 new stores across the country this year.
Prime minister David Cameron believes this will help to boost the economy in Britain and those who are currently looking for jobs.
