Printed labels for Tesco toys have stepped away from convention as the supermarket seeks to use less packaging and ease parent frustrations.
For its new pre-school toy brand Carousel, Tesco worked with packaging experts to develop a cardboard design that would cut down the amount of time it takes to unpack the toy.
At the moment, the average toy takes around four minutes to unpack, a nightmare on Christmas morning, but Tesco has managed to shrink this down to just 45 seconds across its whole range.
The firm banished annoying metal ties and rely solely on cardboard to keep the toys in place, while allowing them to be seen and touched.
Sarah Allen, head of brand design at Tesco said: "[This change] has given Tesco a market leading innovation and is something that customers are responding to well."
Many supermarkets and producers are cutting down on packaging as a result of new regulations and campaigns.
