Booklet labels containing vouchers and peelable labels advertising things like round pound deals could be more necessary in the coming months as shoppers feel the pinch of price rises.
According to the latest IGD ShopperTrack, 90 per cent of people expect to see the foods they buy get more expensive over the next 12 months.
Because of this, one-third reported that they plan to implement strategies such as going to cheaper supermarkets and looking for promotions in order to make their money go further.
Joanne Denney-Finch, chief executive of IGD, said: "Shoppers are not taking it lying down. Instead they are prepared to sacrifice some of their time by shopping around."
Despite this, eight out of ten people admitted they would be willing to splash out occasionally if there was a special occasion, something premium brands could capitalise on by producing booklet labels containing coupons.
This comes after a study by Halifax Home Insurance last month found that UK adults could be saving as much as £1,196 a year by looking for deals, special offers and promotional labels, amounting to a collective £51 billion.
