When we set out our environmental roadmap a few years ago, we circled 2030 in the calendar as the year we wanted to achieve Carbon Neutral status. It seemed ambitious, but we felt it was the right for a global leader in labelling. Today, we are proud to announce we have met that goal four years ahead of schedule.
Achieving Carbon Neutrality in 2026 is an important milestone for everyone at Denny Bros. It’s the result of a decade-long, multi-million-pound investment in technology, renewable energy, and a shift in how we think about manufacturing.
For our customers, this means every time you choose a Denny Bros label, you are choosing a partner who actively reduces the carbon footprint of your supply chain.
Our Managing Director, Graham Denny, believes our transition to an employee-owned business in 2021 was a major catalyst: “Our staff are deeply committed to our ‘green’ culture. Initially, 2030 was a challenging target, but employee ownership sparked even greater momentum. This achievement proves that manufacturing can be both innovative and environmentally responsible.”
While we have reduced our emissions drastically, there currently remains 169 tonnes of CO2 that we are unable to avoid generating through standard operations. To take full responsibility for this, we worked with Carbon Neutral Britain to calculate our 2025 footprint and offset that remaining balance. By supporting the Carbon Neutral Britain Projects Fund, we are proud to contribute to essential global initiatives, such as the first grid-connected wind farm in Mongolia, and solar lighting for families in Zambia who lack access to electricity. These schemes were selected because they meet the highest international standards for carbon reduction and real-world environmental impact.
Being Carbon Neutral doesn’t mean the work stops. Whether it’s maintaining our Gold Carbon Charter Award or mentoring other Suffolk-based companies on their own green journeys, we’re staying focused on the future.
