Our commitment to ‘championing the environmental agenda’ has seen us maintain a prestigious county award.
The Denny Bros Group has once again been awarded the Suffolk Carbon Charter Gold Award – two years after it earned the accolade as part of their continued environmental commitment.
The leading Bury St Edmunds-based packaging and labelling company were praised for showing ‘continual environmental improvement’ and supporting Suffolk’s goal of Creating the Greenest County.
Nick Theobald, Quality and Environmental Manager, said: “As a company, we are all delighted to have maintained our Suffolk Carbon Charter Gold status.”
“We are very proud of our environmental credentials which run through every aspect of the business.
“Directors have consistently and strongly backed out efforts to be environmentally conscious but it takes everyone throughout the company to be engaged for it to really work well.
“We also work tirelessly to look at further ways to improve our environmental footprint and we welcome the recommendations outlined in this award.”
Announcing the gold level, the award paid tribute to the fact there has been more than 10% emissions reduction made in the last two years by the company who also have a 2030 carbon neutral target and net zero goals, as well as persistent efforts to manage solar energies and reduce demands on the grid.
A spokesperson for the Suffolk Carbon Charter Panel said: “The Carbon Charter is awarded to organisations that are monitoring and reducing their carbon emissions.”
“It is intended to provide public recognition of this vital step to our shared goal of Creating the Greenest County.
“The Gold Charter is only awarded to organisations deemed to be exemplifying best practice in terms of demonstrating significant reductions in carbon emissions and championing the environmental agenda.”
“Alongside the award, the panel also offered recommendations to further enhance Denny Bros’ green programme – a move that was welcomed by the packaging and labelling company.
These included continuing to support public awareness events and promote their sustainable products and services to a wider audience, continuing to look at reducing emissions from vehicle use and consider installing EV chargers on-site.
